Brent Goudarzi is the founding partner of Goudarzi & Young, L.L.P. in Gilmer, Upshur County, Texas.
The six most consequential settlements and verdicts in transportation litigation history are held by Mr. Goudarzi. Mr. Goudarzi has obtained verdicts of $730 million, $260 million and $101 million. More importantly, Mr. Goudarzi has secured paid settlements for his clients of $150 million, $140 million and $125 million. These six separate case results are unmatched by any lawyer or law firm in the nation. Mr. Goudarzi is currently handling cases all over the United States.
In 2022 alone, Mr. Goudarzi’s office secured over $512 million in settlements for individual tort victims. As a result of Mr. Goudarzi’s accomplishments, he was honored to be named Civil Plaintiff Trial Lawyer of the Year for 2022 by The National Trial Lawyers. He received this award at the NTL Summit in Miami, Florida. He is currently the President Elect of The National Trial Lawyers Association for 2024.
Mr. Goudarzi received his B.A. (1993) and J.D. (1996) from Texas Tech University. He is a past President of the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association (2011-2017) and currently serves on its board of directors in the capacity of Director Emeritus. Mr. Goudarzi has been honored as a Texas Super Lawyer (2012-present) (Super Lawyers recognition is a Thomson Reuters service), a National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyer (2013-present), a Trial Lawyers Board of Regents Litigator Award winner (2014-present) (ranked top 1% of lawyers), and a National Association of Distinguished Counsel member (2015-present) and a member of the American Academy of Trial Attorneys – Premier 100 (2015-present).
Mr. Goudarzi is also a member of the American Association for Justice, the Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum (2013-present), the Honorable T. John Ward American Inn of Court and the Upshur County Bar Association.
